How Do I Configure the Echo Echoflex Interface?

The Echo Echoflex Interface (EEI) has a lot of buttons and options, how do I go about setting it up and making sure it works?

Answer

As explained in another article, What Does the Echo Echoflex Interface Do?, the heart of this device is to set up communication between Echo and Echoflex systems. While the installation guide goes into complete detail regarding how to set up this device, below is a quick breakdown of the main setup and control options.

Steps/Controls

Configure the Echo Side

  1. Assign Echo space via dial

  2. Program which presets/zones the inputs/outputs talk to

    1. Press and hold ‘RECORD/PROGRAM’ button for 3 seconds to enter program mode

    2. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to navigate to desired input/output

    3. Output Status LEDs will indicate preset/zone number for the selected input/output

    4. Tap ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ buttons to increase preset or zone number

    5. Tap ‘RECORD/PROGRAM’ button to save changes and exit program mode

Configure the Echoflex Side

  1. Link inputs (learn EEI to Echoflex input devices [stations/sensors])

    1. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired input

    2. Tap ‘LEARN/TEACH’ button on EEI to put the EEI in LEARN mode

    3. Use appropriate TEACH option on Echoflex input device to link

    4. Repeat for other inputs or learn mode on EEI will expire after 30 seconds of inactivity

  2. Link outputs (teach EEI to Echoflex output devices [controllers])

    1. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired output

    2. Put Echoflex output device into learn mode

    3. Tap ‘LEARN/TEACH’ button on EEI to teach/link to the device

    4. Repeat for other outputs or learn mode on output device will expire after 30 seconds of inactivity

  3. Clear all links for an input/output

    1. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired input/output

    2. Press and hold ‘CLEAR’ button for 5 seconds

 

Manual Control (make sure the EEI can communicate to both sides)

  1. Of wireless inputs

    1. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired input

    2. Use ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ buttons to simulate on event action and off event action

      1. Ex A: If echoflex switch station linked to the input, single tap plays programmed preset or space off, while pressing and holding performs space raise or lower

  2. Of wireless outputs

    1.  Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired output

    2. Use ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ buttons to increase/decrease the linked output device’s level

      1. Single tap sets output to 100% or 0% over 2 seconds

      2. Pressing and holding raises or lowers output level

      3. Double tap sets output to 100% or 0% over 500 ms

Re-record Echo Presets

  1.  Set the desired look

  2. Tap ‘SELECT’ button to choose desired input

  3. Tap ‘RECORD/PROGRAM’ briefly to snapshot current look
