Wireless Timeclock Setup Guide

Issue
This article serves as an addendum to the 'Wireless TimeClock WTC Configuration Guide', and aims to assist a user in setting up basic functionality for their Wireless Timeclock.
Before Beginning
Ensure that the Timeclock is installed and powered up. Timeclocks are powered via 12/24VDC and draw 0.1A; use of the included power supply is recommended.
Solution
Initial Setup

Set Timeclock date/time and GPS coordinates
- Press Enter for the Main Menu.
- Use the Down button to navigate to TimeClock Settings & press Enter.
- With Time: highlighted, press Enter; use the Up/Down/Enter buttons to program current time.
- Repeat this process for Time Style, Date, Time Zone, Latitude, & Longitude
- Note: GPS coordinates are essential for accurate execution of Sunrise/Sunset events.
- Choose your region for DST (or choose ‘Manual’ and then ensure ‘Manual DST Dates are set appropriately).
Additional Timeclock settings
- Sweep Interval – “Sweep” can be enabled/disabled on a per-event basis. If enabled, the event command will repeat for the Sweep Duration (see: Programming Schedule Events) on this interval.
- Timed Hold – this value is the duration that all scheduled events will be suspended for upon pressing the ‘Hold’ button on the Timeclock.
- Flick Warn – if an “OFF” event is programmed, Flick Warn will cause lights to flash once at the event time, then hold ON for 60 seconds, allowing an occupant time to exit or use a linked wall switch to keep lights on.
Programming Scheduled Events

- From the home screen, press Enter for the Main Menu (or use the Back button if necessary).
- With Schedule Events highlighted, press Enter.
- The Timeclock can hold up to 50 schedule events – use the Enter button and the Up/Down buttons to select an available slot for Event Number.
- Set the Action field to an appropriate event type.
- Scene: recalls a lighting preset
- Scene 0 = OFF
- Scene 1 = 100% brightness
- Scenes 2-7 = 85-10% brightness
- OFF: sends and OFF command
- ON to Level: enables a user-configurable Level parameter with values of 0-100% selectable, in 5% increments
- Scene: recalls a lighting preset
- Set the Group Number field to choose which lights will respond to this event
- All linked controllers (interior) = Group 1
- Exterior Sign = Group 2
- Select a Recurrence i.e. “Every Day” or “Weekdays”
- Choose When
- Time of Day – the event will fire at the time configured in the Time field (according to the configured Recurrence pattern)
- Before/After Sunset/Sunrise – the event will use the configured GPS coordinates (see Initial Setup, step 1) and the Offset field to determine the next time the event will execute
- Enable/Disable Sweep (see: Initial Setup, step 2a)
- Ensure Next Event = None
- Use the Up button to navigate back to ‘Event Number’, press Enter, and use the Up button to select another available slot – if you just programmed an ‘On’ event i.e. ‘Scene’ 1-7 or ‘ON to Level’ 5-100%, you should now program a corresponding OFF event i.e. ‘OFF’, ‘Scene 0’, or ‘ON to Level’ 0% for the same lighting Group Number.
- Set the Action field to an appropriate event type.
Testing Timeclock Functionality

- Use the ‘Recall Preset’ button on the timeclock to send an instantaneous command
- From the ‘Scene’ page, use the Up/Down/Enter buttons to configure a Group Number and Scene (Preset) Number – Scene 0 = OFF, Scene 1 = full brightness, Scenes 2-7 = 85-10% respectively.
- Once you have chosen which Scene Number you want to recall and press Enter such that Scene Number: n is highlighted, the command will fire immediately and all lights in the associated Group Number should respond.
- Alternatively, you can set the Time for a ‘Time of Day’ event to a minute or two in the future and observe the event fire, then ensure you either clear out the event by setting Action to ‘None’ or adjust the Time to the time you actually want the event to fire.
- Or, you can adjust the timeclock’s Time in ‘TimeClock Settings’ temporarily to observe programmed schedule event(s) fire at their configured time(s).
