Burned Component on Internal CMd Connector
Issue
An edge connector inside a Legacy Unison CMd processor has a component that looks burned and damaged.

Explanation of Issue
This component is a resistor, used only in CMd, to load the processor's 5V rail. It is wrapped in heatshrink. This resistor gets very warm, so the heatshrink degrades over time and appears charred and flaky, as if it had failed catastrophically. However, in these cases, the resistor still functions correctly and does not need to be replaced. The old heatshrink does not pose a safety hazard, but you can remove it or clean it off the component.
If you would like to replace the component anyway, you can order ETC P/N 7083B2002.
