Symptoms/Issue

  • Power going into the rack tests OK. All fuses are OK
  • Unison processor does not turn on
  • LCD is dark with no text or may be flickering
  • Unison processor is chirping or buzzing

Note: The LED on the overlay will not be blinking with any of these symptoms. If the LED is blinking, then there is likely a problem with the LCD

Description/Explanation of Issue

A capacitor located at C28 on the dimming engine board (7083B5002) has likely failed and requires replacement. Most often, this is in a 277V system, though it can happen in 120V systems.

Note: On CMd processors, there will be a jumper attached to J7 that may appear to be blown or damaged. This is normal. The jumper is a dummy load resistor intended to keep a sufficient load on the engine board and keep the regulated power stable. The damage is cosmetic only. The heat shrink around the resistor cracks over time from the heat generated by the dummy load resistor.

Fix/Solution

  1. Please contact your preferred ETC dealer for repair or ETC Technical Services to begin the RMA process
