How to change the date and time on a Paradigm Central Control Server (P-CCS)

Issue

The date and/or time is incorrect on my Paradigm Central Control Server (P-CCS). How can I change it?

Changing the date or time

It should be noted that if the P-CCS' date or time is incorrect, most other products in the lighting system will be incorrect, too, since all Paradigm product gets its time from the P-CCS, and even lighting consoles and other equipment may be receiving time from here.

It's also possible the P-CCS has been targeted to a different non-Conductor time server, but in either case the date/time should be changed at the device hosting the time server.

In the rare case the P-CCS is not listening to an external time server, its date/time can be change from its web UI, and the process is outlined below:

  1. On a computer connected to the lighting network, open up a web browser and enter the IP address of the P-CCS. The default is 10.101.10.10.
  2. Click on the blue Menu button in the top left corner and choose "Setup"
  3. Change to the desired date/time. Upon saving the changes it will prompt "Do you want to resynchronize Timed Events", and generally we recommend choosing "No", as choosing Yes can potentially alter the light levels in the facility.
  4. The date/time at the top of the page should update within a few seconds.
  5. Close your web browser.

After changing the time from the web UI, if you observe the date or time reverting shortly after that implies the P-CCS is indeed listening to another device as time server.

Correcting the time at the external time server, Conductor, or P-CCS (depending on the method required) should also correct time elsewhere in the system using SNTP to distribute the change. Since SNTP works at certain intervals, it may take up to 30 seconds for all devices in the system to update to the new date/time.
