ColorSource Solo console will not power on, 2.5v rail at 0

Symptoms/Issue

The console does not boot and there is no activity on the LCD.

Description/Explanation of Issue

The ColorSource console has many required voltages to function properly, 2.5 and 3.3vsnvs volts a couple of them. Without 2.5 or 3.3vsnvs the console will not power on. There are LEDs for the following voltage rails on the ColorSource console control card: 12v, 5v, 3.3v and 2.5v. If the 2.5v indicator LED is off there is no voltage on that rail. The 3.3vsnvs will have to be measured with a DMM.

Fix/Solution

  1. This will only be a fix for Rev J&K (ColorSource AV) and Rev F (ColorSource Solo).
  2. The 2.5 volt rail is provided from an internal regulator inside the processor and is operated with a load switch.
  3. If this switch is broken the 2.5v rail will not power on and the console will not boot.
  4. A temporary work around can be switching the "S1 Boot Mode" dip switch 2 to ON.
  5. When time allows send the console in for service for the permanent fix.
