Why Does My Emphasis Face Panel Display Old Dates in the Splash Screen?

Question

When I turn on my face panel with Emphasis code loaded, the opening splash screen says Expression, Insight or Express and old copyright dates. Why?

Answer

Since this product allows older consoles to be fully upgradeable, there is no reason to change the face panel's boot ROM; this is the source for this splash screen.

If you see this it does not mean that the face panel has not upgraded properly.
The face panel will display its software version at the bottom of the screen.

If you are upgrading to 3.1 and you get to the ETC Energy Field splash screens, the upgrade has been successful.
