Description of Issue

ETC is continuing to investigate the causes and solution to this issue.  Please contact ETC Technical Support to report the issue and provide details.

You will be asked for the following information:

  • Serial Number of the Apex FP
  • Make and Model of external monitors
  • Make and Model of any video adapters such as DisplayPort > HDMI or video splitters
  • Photos of the incorrect screen arrangement

Solution

  1. Power off the Apex FP
  2. Disconnect all external monitors
  3. Power on the Apex FP
Note: the Eos Shell should appear on the on-board 10.1" Encoder screen.  This is normal.
  4. At the Welcome Screen, navigate to Settings > General > Monitor Arrangement ...
  5. Click "Identify" and confirm that the Encoder screen registers with the letter 'A'
  6. Cancel out of Monitor Arrangement.  Cancel out of Settings. Power Off the Apex FP
  7. Once the Apex FP has shut down, connect one external monitor
  8. Power on the Apex FP and take note of which screen the ETC logo appears on
  9. At the Welcome Screen, navigate to Settings > General > Monitor Arrangement ...
  10. Click "Identify" and confirm that the Encoder screen registers with the letter 'A'.  The external screen may register with 'B' or another letter.
If the screens appear correct at this point, exit and reboot the console a few times to confirm it is working correctly with a single external screen
  11. If the screens are not correct, use the Monitor Arrangement tool to change the relative positions of the screens.  Press 'Apply', then 'Keep Changes'. You may need to try different arrangements such as one on top of the other for the change to remain stable.

If problems persist, ETC Technical Support may request you to take photos and run some additional software to provide more data on monitor arrangement.
