Reseating AIS Keycaps on Eos Family Consoles
Description
AIS keycaps on consoles use a different mounting mechanism than other keycap types. When reinstalling these keycaps, an extra step is required to fully seat the keycap and get it flush with the rest of the keycaps. On non-AIS face panels, this step is not necessary; the keycaps can simply be pressed into place.
Below is an example of an improperly seated AIS keycap (the [2] key).

Follow the procedure below to properly reinstall AIS keycaps into the face panel or watch a short video how it also gets performed on the larger keycaps like "Go", "Back" or "Enter" here -> AIS Keycap replacement.mp4
The hook tool which got used in this video can be bought at amazon locally, and avoids any damage to the inner part of the keycap compared to pliers.

If you are performing the replacement of the larger keycaps, take caution while removing the keycap with the keycap puller. There are two plastic brackets which are holding the metal stabilization bar. If one of those plastic brackets breaks the keycap will feel wobbly, when installed and should be replaced.
