How to Reseat NVMe drive in a Windows 10 Gio @5
Explanation
This article will walk you through how to replace or reseat the NVMe solid state drive (SSD) in your Gio @5.
Procedure
Open the Console
Replace or Reseat the Drive
The NVMe SSD is located on the main carrier board underneath of the DisplayPort connector

- Press the release feature of the DisplayPort connector to disconnect it. Avoid damaging the components directly underneath this connector, the DisplayPort cable, and the metal core ferrite that is mounted on the DisplayPort cable.
- Drape the DisplayPort cable away from the motherboard to reveal the SSD.

- Use a Phillips #1 driver to remove the screw which holds the SSD in place
- The NVMe SSD should pop up to about a 30 degree angle. Pull the drive out.
If reseating the drive, reinsert the drive at the same angle.
If replacing the drive, insert the new drive at the same angle. - Replace the screw to push the NVMe SSD down. Make sure to fully hand-tighten the screw to ensure a good connection between the drive and motherboard.
- Plug the DisplayPort cable back in.
- Close the console and replace all screws.
Reimage the Console
If you have replaced the drive with a new one, follow the reimage instructions for your console to reinstall the operating system and software.
