Record Cue Vs Update Cue
Recording Cues
When recording cues all parameters of any fixtures that have non-home values will be recorded. If you are recording over an already existing cue then it rewrite all data that was previously stored.
A non home value will be any color other than grey. You can reference what the colors represent here.
Record Only
When using record only it will only record the manual data and exclude all data coming from other sources like submasters.
Updating Cues
When updating cues it will update all manual values in the current cue. Where updating gets used primarily is when you are updating presets/pallets that are referenced in cues or when needing to make changes across multiple cues.
The default update will update the absolute values in the cue as well as any references (presets/pallets) in the cue. If you select make absolute then it will take any manual value that was formerly a reference and change it to be an absolute value taking it out of the reference. If we use the option Ref Only then it will only update the references and not the cue itself.
