Why is my Express trying to load from disk when it boots?

Symptoms/Issue

Express attempts to load from disk after boot up. Bump LEDs flicker, and the facepanel doesn't work.

Fix/Solution

First, attempt a deep clear of the console by holding down bumps 7, 8, and 9 when powering up the system. This will clear out any startup macros that may be in the system.

If the problems disappear, there may be an issue with the show file on the console, or some setting in the console.

If problems persist, then the problem is likely due to the trackpad. This problem can be fixed in the field by opening the face panel and unplugging the trackpad ribbon cable from the face panel PCB. The trackpad will no longer function, but the face panel can continue to be used until the trackpad is replaced.
