Response SMPTE Gateway gets bad timecode via Windows PC audio output

Issue

I'm playing timecode through an audio output from my Windows PC (for example, using a 3.5mm-to-XLR cable). The Response SMTPE Gateway isn't receiving a signal, or the timecode on the gateway's display is jumping to different values.

Solution

Disable Windows Audio enhancements for the corresponding output.

Step-by-step guide for Windows 11:

1. Connect the desired audio output from your Windows PC to the Response SMTPE Gateway.
2. Open the Windows Sound settings.
3. Left Click on the desired output.
4. Set Audio Enhancements to “Off”.
