How to update software on a CEM+ module

First determine the existing CEM+ software version by navigating to [About] and pressing the check mark. Press + or - until the version is displayed. Alternatively you can press the reset button on the CEM+ and the version will be displayed on boot. UpdaterAtor should be able to detect and update CEM+ modules as low as v1.0.0, but if it's not being detected in that program, you'll need to update using the webUI. Both methods are outlined below.

Update using UpdaterAtor:

  1. Download and install the latest version of UpdaterAtor. This is also included in as part of the Net3 Concert installation.
  2. While still connected to the internet open UpdaterAtor, and click on Setup Versions in the top-right corner.
  3. Select CEM+ in the list of devices, and in the bottom left section select "3.1.3.9.0.44" and the corresponding download button. Once the download is completed close UpdaterAtor.
  4. Plug your PC into the network the CEM+ rack(s) reside on, and make sure your PC is in the same IP scheme as the racks. Next launch UpdaterAtor.
  5. Select the rack(s) in the list on the first page, and then click "Update." UpdaterAtor will display a progress bar as the software is sent to the CEM+, then the CEM+ will display "Loading New SW Please Wait..."
  6. Once completed the rack will reboot and will be loaded with the new software.

Update using the webUI:

  1. Download and install the latest version of UpdaterAtor. This is also included in as part of the Net3 Concert installation.
  2. While still connected to the internet open UpdaterAtor, and click on Setup Versions in the top-right corner.
  3. Select CEM+ in the list of devices, and in the bottom left section select "3.1.3.9.0.44" and the corresponding download button. Once the download is completed close UpdaterAtor.
  4. Plug your PC into the network the CEM+ rack(s) reside on, and make sure your PC is in the same IP scheme as the racks.
  5. Open Internet Explorer, and make sure you've put the IP of the rack into compatibility settings.
  6. Login using the info below:
    1. username: power
    2. password: powerpass
  7. Click on Configuration on the left side of the screen, then click on "Upload Files"
    1. If the software is old enough, you may not have an "Upload Files" button, in this case go to https://[IP Address]/down.htm
  8. Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\etc\nodesbin\cemplus.bld, and then choose the install option.
  9. The CEM+ will display "Loading new SW Please Wait..."
  10. Once completed the rack will reboot and will be loaded with the new software.
