Space Issue that can arise with Ribbon Cable Adapter Boards when upgrading racks that were originally Sensor Classic
Issue
When installing Sensor rack upgrades with original Ribbon Cable Adapter Boards, there does not seem to be enough room to get the back plane to seat correctly or even fit in. New adapter boards can resolve the issue.
Explanation of Issue & Solution
When Sensor Classic racks were originally installed the ribbon cables were directly attached to the backplane metal.

When we came out with Sensor Plus (CEM+) upgrade we had two adapter cards that attached to the ribbon cables: one 5150B5607 for the upper ribbon and one 7150B5706 for the lower ribbon. These adapters protruded into the rack 1.125" (30mm), and in some cases the feeder cable, rack bussing, or wire bundles used with Classic were in the way preventing the adapters from fitting in place. Part way through CEM3 / Sensor3 upgrades we moved to 7150B5707 ribbon cable adapters that increased the space at the back of the backplane, and meant only one part number was needed for both the upper and lower ribbon cables which resolved a lot of plugging mishaps.

If you order new upgrade kits for Classic upgrade they have the new ribbon cable adapter harness. If the rack is upgrading from a CEM+ or a CEM3 that was originally a Classic you still may run into a situation where the old adapter cards were used, so you may want to order some of the adapter cables.
