Limit Switch Information - FSMS/VSMS

Fixed Speed Motor Starter (FSMS) and Variable Speed Motor Starter (VSMS) ship with 4 independent normally closed limit switch inputs:

  • Upper Overtravel
  • Upper Limit
  • Lower Limit
  • Lower Overtravel

The Upper Limit will prevent the connected hoist from traveling in the up direction, but allow the hoist to travel in the down direction. The Lower Limit prevents the connected hoist from traveling in the down direction, but allows the hoist to travel in the up direction.

The Upper Overtravel and Lower Overtravel will bring the hoist to a complete stop and disengage the e-stop contactor in the FSMS/VSMS, preventing any additional hoist movement. Please contact ETC Technical Services for additional information.

Note: FSMS & VSMS are not compatible with normally open (closed when struck) limit switches.
