Resetting the CMOS on a Hog Console after changing the BIOS Battery: AIMB-586 motherboard

Issue

After changing the BIOS Battery on the Console, you will need to boot into BIOS and update the Time and Date. If your console has the AIMB-586 motherboard you will need to take an additional step to get the console to boot. The motherboard requires two pins to be shorted to reset CMOS.

If you have a console with a serial number AFTER AND INCLUDING those listed below, your Console has the AIMB-586 motherboard.

  • Full Boar: 720051007
  • Road Hog: 720111103
  • Hedge Hog 4: 720064002

Required Tools

  • USB Keyboard
  • Screwdriver (Phipps or Flathead does not matter)

Solution

  1. Power on the Console
  2. Using a Screwdriver short the two pins outlined in the below images
  3. The Console will boot, and you will see American Megatrends displayed
  4. Using the F2 Key on an external keyboard boot into BIOS
  5. Update the Time and Date
  6. Save and Exit
  7. Console should now boot and operate correctly
