If the knob is switched off and DMX is not present, the fixture will not be lit. This allows for adjusting the relative level of fixtures that use the same DMX address, allowing for simpler control. If the knob is switched off, the fixture has a full range of DMX control and will turn off if DMX is lost. If the knob is turned fully on, the fixture has a full range of DMX control and will go to full if DMX is lost.
