Echoflex phase dimmer error codes
Symptoms
My Echoflex phase dimmer (ER6CD or ER12CD) is blinking its Power and Learn LEDs back and forth and is not functioning. The blink code does not match anything in the manual.
Explanation of Issue
The ER6CD and ER12CD use their LEDs to communicate errors; non-dimmer errors are indicated using a green LED, whereas dimmer-specific errors are indicated using a blue LED. If you experience any non-dimmer errors, or if the steps in the chart below do not work, please contact ETC technical services. For dimmer errors, the unit will flash back and forth between the red Power LED and a certain number of blinks on the blue Learn LED. Please reference the documentation for the appropriate dimmer for how to execute the described solutions.
Dimmer Error Codes
Number of Blue Blinks | Error Description | Solution |
---|---|---|
1 blink | No communications between dimmer processors. | Power off the dimmer for 10-15 seconds, then power back on. |
2 blinks | Short circuit | Investigate loads and wiring for a short. |
3 blinks | Over-current | Investigate the amperage of the load. |
4 blinks | Reverse phase has been set with a inductive forward phase load. | Set dimming mode to Automatic and cycle power. |
5 blinks | Messy or dirty power (bad sine wave). | Correct fault on feed side and cycle power. |
6 blinks | Over temperature | Cut power to the dimmer and wait at least 15 minutes to allow it to cool. Check load type and amperage. |
