Power LED Blink Patterns for Echoflex Controllers
Question
The power LED on my Echoflex Controller is blinking (in some pattern). What does this mean?
Answer
Echoflex controllers use their power LED to indicate link status, including where they are in an active linking process or what and how many devices they are currently linked to.
Blink patterns can vary based on the controller, as not every controller is compatible with the same control devices. See chart below or reference the controller's installation guide.
If the controller is in LEARN mode, the learn LED will also indicate (see bottom chart).
If the controller is linked to multiple types of stations, you will see the blink patterns rotate through each type.
For each linked device type the controller sees linked, the power LED:
- flashes X number of long blinks indicating the type of linked device (see chart below for what each long blink number means by controller)
- then flashes X number of short blinks indicating how many devices of that type
Linked Device Type Power LED Long Blink Count
Solid On | 1 Long | 2 Long | 3 Long | 4 Long | 5 Long | 6 Long | 7 Long | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ERDRC | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch | |
ELED1 | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Demand Response | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ELED2 | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Demand Response | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ELED3 | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Demand Response | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ER6CD | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Demand Response | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ER1C | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Keycard | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ERM | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Keycard | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ERNR | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Keycard | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ER12CD | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Keycard | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
ELEDR | None | Switch | Occ/Vac Sensor | Photo Sensor | Central Command | Keycard | Entry Door Trigger | Door/Window Switch |
Example: if an ELED1 controller is linked to 2 switches and 1 photo sensor, based on the chart below you will see the following repeat consistently:
- 1 long blink, 2 short blinks (indicates 2 switches linked)
- 3 long blinks, 1 short blink (indicates 1 photo sensor linked)
- Repeat

(these should be the same for all controllers)
Status/Indication | Power LED Blink Pattern | Learn LED |
---|---|---|
In link mode (waiting for a 'teach' telegram) | Toggle on/off every 2 seconds | On solid |
Storing transmitter ID (linking to transmitter) | On 4 seconds | On solid |
Clearing transmitter ID (unlinking from transmitter) | Off 4 seconds | On solid |
CLEAR mode (unlinking all transmitters) | Off | On 1 second |
