Older DRd Will Not Communicate With Echo Bus
Issue
The Unison DRd Rack is functioning correctly but will not respond to Echo station/sensor commands. All other Echo equipment on the Echobus is working correctly.
Explanation
If the DRd is an older unit being upgraded from Smartlink to Echo, or just an older unit that has not yet been installed, the problem is most likely the Right I/O card. This is the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) in the lower right hand corner of the Unison DRd enclosure. There will be a white label on that PCB listing the part number and the Revision letter. If this revision is A-E, it is not compatible with Echo Communication and the Right I/O PCB will need to be replaced. Rev. F or higher is simultaneously compatible with Paradigm, Smartlink, and Echo processors.
Fix/Solution
- Check Revision letter of Right I/O PCB.
- If revision is A-E, contact dealer to order replacement Right I/O card. PN: 7183B5706
