EchoTouch Offline Editor Will Not Find USB Drive

Issue

Tried to save/load show file to/from EchoTouch Offline Editor, and received an error message saying "Could not find FAT formatted USB memory".

Explanation

When EchoTouch Offline Editor software looks for a USB drive, it is specifically looking for Removable Storage.  We have learned that some USB drive manufacturers design the drives in such a way that the software, as well as Windows OS, is identifying it as a Hard Disk Drive, instead of as Removable Storage.  There is no way to change this about a USB Drive and another USB drive will need to be used instead.  See the steps below to check if your USB drive is one of these.

  1. Insert the USB drive into a Windows PC.
  2. Open the File Explorer
  3. Select "Computer".
  4. Locate the name of your USB drive.  It will either appear in the "Hard Disk Drive" section, or the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.
    1. If it appears in the "Hard Disk Drive" section, EchoTouch Offline Editor will not be able to find it.
