Can I use the Phase Adaptive Dimmer or Sensor Phase Adept Module with a magnetic/inductive ballast/transformer/load?
Description/Explanation of Issue
ETC does not recommend the use of this dimmer with a magnetic or inductive load. Please see below for options.
- For the Phase Adaptive Dimmer, ETC now offers a version of this product for these loads. This product is the Echo (or Foundry) Forward Phase Dimmer. It is designed specifically with this load type in mind and should be the product used.
- For the ETC Sensor rack applications, a standard D20 module is the best product for these load types. If this is for a retrofit option, one solution would be to use a CC20 (constant current) module and install a Foundry Forward Phase dimmer between the module and the load.
