Does Connecting DMX Input to My DMX Scene Controller Disable My Button Stations?
Description
When connecting a DMX Input to the DMX Scene Controller, it is sometimes desired to have the other button stations cease to activate and deactive presets or other Echo functions while DMX is present.
Answer
Unfortunately, this behavior is not available in the Echo line. It is possible to set a space lockout action through EchoAccess, but this is not automatic when DMX is present or removed. Echo controls and DMX input will arbitrate in a highest takes precedence (HTP) fashion where whichever source is sending the highest intensity level will win. Fixtures with non-intensity parameters patched as Echo Zones in the DMX Scene Controller will defer to DMX input for the non-intensity parameters when present.
