Sensor IQ with UPS Control Backup Wiring Kit cannot control outputs

Issue

After installing a Sensor IQ UPS Control Backup Wiring Kit, properly configured and detected breakers cannot be controlled from any source of data. When switching the breakers, a sound can be heard as the breaker solenoid attempts to engage, but the breaker fails to change state.

Explanation of Issue

To prevent accidental overvoltage, the Sensor IQ UPS Control Backup Wiring Kit PCB ships with its input voltage jumper set to 277V. If the panel is fed with 120V, with the jumper in the wrong position, the mismatched voltage will prevent the breakers from properly changing state.

Solution

  1. Power off the incoming voltage to the panel.
  2. Verify that the jumper is installed correctly per the diagram below:

  3. Change the jumper if it is set to the wrong voltage.
  4. Power on the panel and test.

Verify the incoming voltage to the panel before changing the jumper. Setting the jumper to 120V in a 277V or 230V panel may damage your equipment.
