Mosaic Controller ARP Table Size
ARP stands for Address Resolution Protocol. This allows one Ethernet device to retrieve another Ethernet device's MAC address by only knowing its IP address. Each of these ARP entries coorelates a device's IP address to its MAC address and consumes memory for every entry.
Any device that a Mosaic controller must communicate with via Ethernet will consume an entry in the controller's ARP table. The ARP table entry limit per controller is listed below. This becomes extremely important to take note of when the controller is patched for unicast channel control (e.g. unicast sACN) instead of multicast as these entries can add up quickly.
Maximum number of ARP tables per controller type:
- MSC 1-4 = 500
- MSC-X = 1000
- Atlas/Atlas Pro = 2000
