Mosaic Controller Recovery from SD Card

Description

If you need to perform a full recovery of a Mosaic Controller, please follow the steps below.

Fix

  1. Remove the memory card from the MSC and insert it into your computer.
  2. Wipe all files on the memory card (ensure you have made any necessary backups).
  3. Locate the firmware folder in the Designer installation location or app bundle
    1. For Windows users the folder is located in the C:\Program Files\ETC\Mosaic\Designer 2 in a sub folder titled 'Firmware'
    2. For Mac OS users the folder is located in Applications Folder of Mosaic.
      1. Navigate to your Applications Directory and Select Mosaic Designer 2
      2.  click on the actions button (or right click) and choose "Show Package Contents".Image 4-14-25 at 2.52 PM.jpg
      3.  Now navigate to Contents > Resources > Firmware.
  4. Copy the appropriate firmware file for your device from the firmware folder to the memory card.
    1.  For an MSC, use lpc.app
    2.  For an MTPC (NOT MTS-5 or MTS-8), use tpc.app
    3. For an MTS-5 or MTS-8, use tps.app
    4. For recovery of MSC X, Atlas, or Atlas Pro controller use the Mosaic Recovery Tool companion app that installs alongside Mosaic Designer 2.
  5. Reinsert the memory card into the Controller and restart the Controller. The Controller will boot, but will take longer to boot than normal.  Wait for the Active LED to illuminate continuously if your controller has that LED.
  6. Connect to the controller using Designer and reload the firmware as normal.
  7. Remove the memory card from the MSC and insert it into your computer again.
  8. Delete the firmware file from the memory card.
  9. Reinsert the memory card into the controller and restart.
