Why Does My Emphasis Face Panel Displays Old Dates in the Splash Screen?

When I turn on my facepanel with Emphasis code loaded, the opening splash screen says Expression, Insight or Express and old copyright dates. Why?

Answer

Since this product allows older consoles to be fully upgradeable, there is no reason to change the facepanel's boot rom;this is the source for this splash screen.

If you see this it does not mean that the facepanel has not upgraded properly.
The facepanel will display it's software version at the bottom of the screen.

If you are upgrading to 3.1 and you get to the ETC Energy Field splash screens, the upgrade has been successful.
