Apex Processor Power Supply is hot while in use
Symptoms/Issue
During normal operation (including in standby mode), the Eos Apex Processor power supply heats up. The surface of the PSU may reach 70C degrees (~160deg Fahrenheit) or higher, depending on the ambient air temperature around the Processor and other factors. The Processor as a whole is rated for an ambient room temperature 0°–35°C (32°–95°F).
Description/Explanation of Issue
The power supply is industrial grade and rated for -40C to 70C ambient (note: this is different than the surface temperature of the PSU). The DC output side will heat up depending on power draw and other factors.
The power supply is marked Caution: Hot Surface | Do Not Touch
The industrial class components used in ETC products are rated for the temperatures experienced inside the enclosure, and extensive thermal testing is performed as part of product development at ETC.
While the Apex Processor is operating the fans will turn on and ramp up as needed.
