Ethernet Ports Missing When Booting Eos Apex Console

Symptoms/Issue

When the Apex console booted, it did not connect to a network via one of its four regular ethernet ports.  In Shell > Network, only the fiber SFP+ ports are shown.

This may occur just after a software update or power-loss / hard shutdown of the console.

Description/Explanation of Issue

In early versions of Apex hardware built prior to May 2023, a condition exists where the console may boot up and not initialize its copper ethernet ports.  On the console, these are shown in Shell > Network Settings and in the Eos software in About.

The ethernet ports are typically recovered after shutting down the console, switching off the power switch, then switching it back on and booting.  The ports continue operating while the console remains powered on.

Fix/Solution

This issue may be resolved by a firmware update to the Apex Carrier Board (motherboard).  Please contact your nearest ETC office for assistance: Contact Us
