Opening the Control Panel on Eos Apex Consoles for Service

Issue

It may sometimes be necessary to open the control panel on your Eos Apex Console in order to perform maintenance on parts of the console. This support post will walk you through the steps to access the control panel.

  1. Power off the console and fully disconnect power
  2. Identify the latches on the console
    1. On Eos Apex 10 and 20, there are 3 holes: 1 in each hand hold and 1 in the center
    2. On Eos Apex 5, there are two: 1 on either side of the keyboard tray
  3. Using a 6mm Hex/Allen Key, give each latch a half-turn to the left
  4. Adjust the Display Panel so it is behind the console and clear of the Control Panel

  1. Lift the Control Panel:
    1. Lift up from the wrist rest on each end. Be sure to grab ONLY the wrist rest, do not grab any of the metal on the chassis.
    2. Lift up on the control panel like the hood of a car.

  1. Once the Control Panel is up, engage the latches on either side at the hinges. They will be called out with padlock icons.
