Apex Processor Power Supply Fan Runs in Standby Mode

Symptoms/Issue

Apex Processor (APU) 4450A1021 uses a different Power Supply (PSU) PS530 PSU 1100W 85-264V IN 12V@60A 5V@36A OUT than other Apex or Eos-Family consoles.

At initial release through December 2023, this PSU's internal fan will continue running when the Apex Processor is in standby mode (power switch is ON but the console is powered off).

Users may mistake this behavior and believe that the Apex Processor is not completing shut down.

In this state, the fan may constantly ramp up and down. The loudness of the fan is variable from one unit to another.

Description/Explanation of Issue

The fan behavior is by design in the original part. ETC have worked with the manufacturer to customize this behavior for application in Apex Processor in newer units shipping from December 2023.
