Element Face Panel Firmware Update Cannot Be Completed

Explanation

In v2.7.3 of Eos Family Software a pop-up was added on boot to alert users if firmware updates were available for any of their components in their console, and encourage them to update.

One of these messages is for the Element Facepanel in Element XPe based desks.  Unfortunately, this firmware cannot be updated in the field and requires a PIC programmer.  The customer may see the message, go to Maintenance to update and find they are unable.

This will be rectified in v2.8.0 of Eos Family Software.

Steps to Solution

The firmware update message on boot can be ignored.  If you find this to be annoying, it can be removed all together with a utility.  Please contact ETC Technical Services to acquire this utility.
