Wake on AC Power Restore on Windows 10 Eos Family Devices

Description

Eos family devices have a BIOS option to automatically power on when they receive AC power following an interruption. This is useful when Eos devices are located in inconvenient locations or distributed throughout a facility. Instead of going to each device and manually powering it on, this setting will cause each device to power itself on and boot when it receives input power.

How to Set This Option in the BIOS

  1. Exit the Eos application and power down the device.
  2. Press the power button and immediately begin tapping the [Delete] key on the attached QWERTY keyboard. Do not tap [Delete] on the console's facepanel; this will have no effect. The device will boot to the first ETC splash screen and then immediately enter the BIOS settings menu. At this point you can stop tapping [Delete].
    1. The QWERTY keyboard must be plugged into one of the USB ports on the rear of the device. The ports on the facepanel or in the keyboard tray will not work.
  3. Use the right arrow key to navigate to the "Chipset" tab.
  4. Use the down arrow to highlight "PCH-IO Configuration" and press [Enter] to select it.
  5. Use the down arrow to select the "Restore AC Power Loss" option. Use the [+] and [-] keys to change this option to [Power On].
  6. Press [F4] to save changes and [Enter] to confirm.

The device will now automatically power on whenever input power is removed and restored.
