How to automatically start an effect cue on the CD fader from another cue on Expression?

Question

I have an effect cue already written on my console, but I want to automatically start it on the CD fader when playing another cue on the AB fader. How do I accomplish this?

Answer

  1. Create a macro that puts the effect cue onto the CD fader. The easiest way to do this is to learn the macro. In the example below Cue 101 is the effect cue, and Macro 1 we are creating. Use whichever numbers needed in your own programming.
    1. Press [Stage] to display Live mode
    2. Press [Learn] [1] [Enter].
    3. Press [Cue] [1][0][1] [Go] (below the CD fader)
    4. Press [Enter Macro] to stop learning the macro
  2. Link the macro to a cue using the example below. In this case we'll link Macro 1 to Cue 11
    1. Press [Stage] to display Live mode
    2. Press [Cue] [1][1] [Link] [Enter Macro] [1] [Enter]
  3. When you press [Go] below the AB fader to go to Cue 11, Cue 101 will auto load to CD.

To unload the CD fader on another cue, you simply have to write another macro to clear fader CD. In the example below we'll use Macro 2.

  1. Press [Stage] to display Live mode
  2. Press [Learn] [2] [Enter].
  3. Press [Clear] [Clear] (next to the CD fader)
  4. Press [Enter Macro] to stop learning the macro

Simply link Macro 2 to another cue following the same steps as above.
