Updating Fixture Personality Library on SmartSoft

How do I update the Fixture Personality Library on SmartSoft?

Assuming you already have SmartSoft installed on your computer, the steps below will walk you through updating the Fixture Personality Library on SmartSoft.

Fix/Solution

1. Download the SmartFade ML Fixture Personality Library v11.2.2 from the SmartFade ML Software Page.

SmartFade ML Fixture Personality Library v11.2.2 is the final version of the SmartFade ML library and has not been updated since July, 2015.

2. If currently open, quit SmartSoft.
3. Extract the zip and copy the PERSLIB.bin file to the Binaries folder in your SmartSoft directory.
   • This is typically going to be in:
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\ETC\SmartSoft\Binaries
   • There will already be a pserslib.bin file in this folder. Select "Replace the file in the destination" when prompted.
4. Launch SmartSoft in SmartFade ML mode.
5. At the top of the window, click on the virtual console button to open a virtual simulator of the SmartFade ML.

6. Using the virtual console, follow the steps outlined in the "Load Personalities from Card" on page 8 of the SmartFade ML Manual.
