Wiring Emergency Bypass Detection Kit (EBDK) to Fire Alarm

Where do I land my fire alarm contact at an Emergency Bypass Detection Kit (EBDK)?
Answer
Fire alarm inputs must be normally closed EBDK is not compatible with normally open fire alarms.
If the fire alarm is providing voltage: land on Input and Common at EBDK.
If the EBDK is providing voltage: land on Input and V Out at EBDK.
Note: remember to remove the yellow jumper from Input/V Out to enable the contact functionality.
Adding a second EBDK
If you need to trigger a second EBDK off of the same fire alarm relay:
- Wire the fire alarm to EBDK1 exactly as described above.
- Run wire from the "Open in Emergency" (sometimes labeled "NC") and "Common" terminals of any of the three "Output" sections available on EBDK 1.
- Land those wires on Fire Alarm Input and Common of EBDK2.
This will allow the Fire Alarm to trigger both EBDK's into emergency. However, if EBDK 2 loses power, it will trigger its outputs, but will not put EBDK 1 into emergency as well.
