Mitigating PrintNightmare in Windows Embedded Products

Issue

Microsoft has identified a vulnerability with the Print Spooler service that can be used for remote code execution. ETC products that are built with Windows Embedded OS have the Print Spooler enabled, but do not use it as a function of the product. It can be disabled to mitigate the risk.

As of 7/8/2021, ETC is working on a utility to do this automatically. If you need to mitigate the risk before this tool is available, please contact ETC Technical Services.
