NFPA70E Arc Flash Labeling

Question:

I need to have “Arc Flash” labelling on my installed panels, does ETC provide those?

Answer:

The “Arc Flash Sticker” is a requirement from the NFPA70E standard for electrical safety in the workplace. This covers the requirements for training, documentation and labelling for electrical safety at work. Arc flash labeling is the responsibility of the employer, not the manufacturer or installer of the equipment. In general, the employer will need to carry out an arc flash study to determine how much energy is available at a particular piece of equipment, and determine what PPE would be required to work on it. This can only be done by assessing the system as a whole, not an individual piece of equipment. Local electrical contractors or engineering firms would be able to provide this assessment as a service.

ETC does not provide this labelling – labels should be provided and applied as part of the arc flash study.
