Overcurrent Protection

Overcurrent protection devices are intended to open a circuit to prevent damage to persons or property due to excessive or dangerous heat.

Overcurrent protection devices have two current ratings:

  1. overcurrent
    and
  2. amperes interrupting current (AIC).
