Global Trac and ETC Source Four Mini LED Fixtures
ETC has an option in the Source Four Mini LED lineup to have fixtures which have an adapter to fit onto Nordic Aluminum Global Trac (and other OEM rebrandings of the Global Trac lineup).
This option from ETC adds the GA69 adapter that is compatible with the Global Trac Pro system. This is a 4-conductor system that is wired with three hot conductors and a shared single neutral conductor.
ETC Source Four Mini LED fixtures are not compatible with any other type of Global Trac.
Nordic Aluminum offers two additional versions of their 4-conductor system; Global Trac Tek, a 2-hot and 2-neutral system at 120V and Global Track HTek, a 2-hot and 2-neutral system at 277V.
It is important to know which version of track you are working with, as fixture adapters and other accessories are not compatible between these three versions. All three versions share a similar look, but have small differences that will help identify which version it is.
All three versions have a large polarity ridge that runs down one side of the bottom edge of the track. For our purposes we will orient the track so that this ridge is on the left when you look at a cross section.
Starting with the Global Trac Pro, you will see that the edge opposite of the polarity ridge is flat, also note the wiring designations of three hot conductors and one neutral conductor.
This is the version of track that the Source Four Mini LED with Global Trac adapter is compatible with.
Next, the Global Trac Tek has a small indentation on the side opposite of the polarity ridge, also note the wiring designations of two hot conductors and two neutral conductors
The Source Four Mini LED with Global Trac adapter is NOT compatible with this version of track.
Finally, the Global Trac HTeck has a small rib on the side opposite of the polarity ridge, this is also wired with two hot conductors and two neutral conductors
The Source Four Mini LED with Global Trac adapter is NOT compatible with this version of track.
When selecting a fixture or a fixture adapter to go with a Nordic Aluminum Global Trac option, it is important to match the adapter to the track.
Global Trac Pro will use an adapter that starts with GA or XTSA. XTSA66, XTSA68, and GA69 are common examples.
Global Trac Tek (120V) will use an adapter that starts with TEK. TEK67, TEK68, TEK69, and TEK100 are common examples.
Global Trac HTek (277V) will use an adapter that stars with HTEK. HTEK68 and HTEK100 are common examples.
