Source Four Mini Outputs Purple Light

Issue

My Irideon or Source Four Mini is outputting purple light.

Explanation of Issue

White LEDs work by emitting a single high-frequency wavelength of light, which is absorbed by a phosphor layer that outputs a broad spectrum of white light. This phosphor layer can degrade over time, particularly if it gets hot. Once the phosphor layer degrades, it passes the base LED frequency of light through, which appears as a purple light.

Solution

Contact ETC Technical Services to discuss repair options.
