Bulging Battery on ETCpad
Symptoms
After a long period of time, the battery in the ETCpad can show signs of bulging.
Immediately discontinue use of the ETCpad and remove the bulging battery.
Explanation of Issue
There was a defect in the original BIOS of ETCpad that could allow the battery to overcharge. This defect was resolved by BIOS version 3.708ETC.
Solution
Immediately discontinue use of the ETCpad and remove the bulging battery.
- Contact your ETC Technical Services office for a replacement battery and ETCpad Re-Image Kit.
- After installing replacement battery, follow the instructions in the ETCpad Re-Image Kit to upgrade the BIOS on the ETCpad.
Dispose of the bulging battery according to local requirements and regulations.
