Bulging Battery on ETCpad

Symptoms

After a long period of time, the battery in the ETCpad can show signs of bulging.

Immediately discontinue use of the ETCpad and remove the bulging battery.

There was a defect in the original BIOS of ETCpad that could allow the battery to overcharge. This defect was resolved by BIOS version 3.708ETC.

Immediately discontinue use of the ETCpad and remove the bulging battery.
Contact ETC Technical Services for a replacement battery and ETCpad re-image kit.
Install the replacement battery.
Follow the instructions in the re-image kit to upgrade the BIOS on the ETCpad.

Dispose of the battery according to your local regulations for lithium-ion batteries. Do not put it in the trash!
