Question

When creating rules for alerts on Net3 Conductor, what are all the types of errors that can be monitored?

Answer

There are a wide variety of errors in a Net3 system that can be monitored:

  • Configuration Errors
  • DMX Errors
  • Ethernet Errors
  • Fixture Errors (RDM)
  • Input Power Errors
  • Internal Hardware Errors
  • Power Control Hardware Errors
  • Station Errors
  • Temperature Errors
  • UPS Errors

Most product families will not produce errors for each one in this list. Errors listed by major product family follow the full list (as found in the Conductor web UI) below:

Paradigm

Configuration Errors

  • Configuration Load Error - A file error occurred when trying to load a configuration
  • Configuration Mismatch - The config on one P-ACP doesn't match that of other P-ACPs in the system
  • Dimming Configuration Mismatch - The dimming config stored on a P-ACP doesn't match what is stored in the dimming engine
  • Echo Bridge Config Mismatch - Echo Expansion Bridge data does not match the P-ACP's Bridge data.
  • Firmware Mismatch - The LightDesigner version of the loaded configuration does not match the version on the P-ACP (Version Mismatch)

DMX Errors

  • DMX Error - Data is seen on DMX port but is not valid DMX
  • DMX B is Disabled - DMX B is disabled on a P-ACP in a DRd

Ethernet Errors

  • Duplicate IP Address Detected - A duplicate IP address has been detected on the network
  • Ethernet link down - Ethernet is unplugged from device
  • Invalid IP Address - The IP address configured for the unit is invalid or unusable
  • Processor Offline - A P-ACP in a multi-processor project is unable to communicate with another P-ACP in the same project. Error does not present to Conductor in a single-processor project

Input Power Errors

  • Frequency Error - Dimming Engine is seeing a frequency outside its operable range
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Off - No power detected on noted phase (Rack Error/Phase 1, 2, or 3 Missing)
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts High - Voltage above determined threshold on noted phase, but still usable
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts Low - Voltage below determined threshold on noted phase
  • Power Loss Detected - Power has been lost. Only reported on systems with some kind of ride-thru or battery-backup option.

Internal Hardware Errors

  • Communication Mismatch - Firmware version mismatch between the dimming engine and P-ACP (Dimming Firmware / Mismatch Detected)
  • Compact Flash Storage Media Missing - CF Card Not Found in PACP
  • Fan Fail - A cooling fan is not operating normally
  • NTP Failure - An attempt to acquire time by NTP has failed
  • Rack # Communication Failure - P-ACP is unable to communicate with dimming engine 1 or 2
  • Rack Wrong Position - Displays when P-ACP is installed in "Rack 2" of a cross-bussed rack (AX12X ACP Position Error)
  • Real Time Clock Failure - Battery for RTC function is low and needs to be replaced (Internal Clock Error / Low Battery)
  • Wrong Racktype - Rack type set by LightDesigner in the configuration does not match the racktype the P-ACP is located.

Power Control Hardware Errors

  • Dimmer Overtemperature - An individual dimmer in a DRd has overtemped and has been shut down

Station Errors

  • Local Station Offline - Local station in configuration is not detected (only for stations with "Report If Offline" property set to Yes)
  • No Processors Online - P-CCS has detected no processors are online in a single sub-project
  • Server Offline - A P-ACP has detected that the P-CCS is offline
  • Station Unbound - A station is detected on the bus that is not associated with a station in the loaded configuration

Temperature Errors

  • Ambient Overtemperature - Temperature is above a threshold defined for proper operation. Function may be shutdown
  • Ambient Temperature High - Temperature is above a lower threshold than overtemp threshold. Unit may still function, but this a warning that temperature is a problem.
  • Ambient Temperature Low - Temperature is below a threshold defined for proper operation.

Sensor3

Configuration Errors

  • Configuration Rejected - Attempt to load configuration failed due to errors in the configuration

DMX Errors

  • DMX Error - Data is being seen on a DMX port but is not valid DMX (DMX Error Port A, DMX Error Port B)
  • No DMX - DMX is not present on input port (No DMX Port A, No DMX Port B)

Input Power Errors

  • Frequency Error - Dimming Engine is seeing a frequency outside its operable range
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Off - No power detected on noted phase
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts High - Voltage above determined threshold on noted phase, but still usable
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts Low - Voltage below determined threshold on noted phase
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Overvoltage - Voltage above determined threshold on noted phase. Functions may be shutdown.

Internal Hardware Errors

  • AF Card # Error - CEM3 unable to communicate with noted AF card (numbered 1 to 4)
  • AF Card # Loading - CEM3 loading software for noted AF card (numbered 1 to 4)
  • Fan Fail - A cooling fan has failed
  • Program Memory Error - There is a hardware fault with the RAM in the CEM3 (Rack Memory Error)
  • Rack Detect Error - CEM3 is unable to detected the type of rack it's in

Power Control Hardware Errors

  • Breaker Trip -  AF module has detected circuit breaker has tripped (AF Bkr Trip #)
  • Dimmer Overtemperature - An individual module in the rack has overtemped and has been shut down (Dim Overtemp #)
  • Dimmer Removed - AF module has been removed (AF Dim Removed #)
  • Load High - AF module has detected a load higher than a predetermined threshold (AF Load HIgh #)
  • Load Low - AF module has detected a load lower than a predetermined threshold (AF Load Low #)
  • No Load - AF module has detected no load present (AF No Load #)
  • Overcurrent - An individual module has detected an overcurrent condition
  • RCD/GFI Trip - AF module with RCD/GFI detection has tripped due to earth leakage, as opposed to overcurrent (AF RCD Trip #)

Temperature Errors

  • Ambient Temperature High - Temperature is above a lower threshold than overtemp threshold. Unit may still function, but this a warning that temperature is a problem. (CPU Temp High)

Sensor+

Configuration Errors

  • Configuration Mismatch - Configuration mismatch with Rack 1
  • Configuration Rejected - Attempt to load configuration failed due to errors in the configuration

DMX Errors

  • DMX Error - Data is being seen on a DMX port but is not valid DMX (Data Error Port A, Data Error Port B)
  • No DMX - DMX is not present on input port (No Data Port A, No Data Port B)

Input Power Errors

  • Frequency Error - Dimming Engine is seeing a frequency outside its operable range (50 or 60Hz, ±2.5Hz)
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Off - No voltage detected on noted phase
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts High - Voltage above determined threshold (default 140VAC on 120V systems, and 280VAC on 240V systems) on noted phase, but still usable
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts Low - Voltage below determined threshold (default 90VAC on 120V systems, and 180VAC on 240V systems) on noted phase

Internal Hardware Errors

  • Communication Mismatch - AF Card Comm Error
  • Fan Fail - No Airflow in the rack
  • Filter Dirty - Door filter needs to be cleaned (Clean Your Filter)
  • Rack Communication Failure - Backplane Failure (Backplane Com Err)

Power Control Hardware Errors

  • Breaker Trip -  AF module has detected circuit breaker has tripped (Dim # Brkr Trip)
  • Dimmer Error - Other unspecified dimmer errors, such as internal hardware failures
  • Dimmer Overtemperature - An individual module in the rack has overtemped and has been shut down (Dim # Overtemp)
  • Dimmer Removed - AF module has been removed (Dim # Removed)
  • Inductive Load Detected - Circuit DC Output
  • Load High - AF module has detected a load higher than a predetermined threshold (Load # Change High)
  • Load Low - AF module has detected a load lower than a predetermined threshold (Load # Change Low)
  • No Load - AF module has detected no load present (Load # No Load)
  • Overcurrent - An individual module has detected an overcurrent condition
  • RCD/GFI Trip - AF module with RCD/GFI detection has tripped due to earth leakage, as opposed to overcurrent (RCD # Trip)

Temperature Errors

  • Ambient Overtemperature - Temperature is above a threshold (default 115°F / 46°C) defined for proper operation. Function may be shutdown
  • Ambient Temperature High - Temperature is above a lower threshold (default 104°F / 40°C) than overtemp threshold. Unit may still function, but this a warning that temperature is a problem.
  • Ambient Temperature Low - Temperature is below a threshold (default 32°F / 0°C) defined for proper operation.

ERP / SensorIQ / E-ACP (DRd)

Configuration Errors

  • Configuration Rejected - Attempt to load configuration failed due to errors in the configuration
  • Dimming Configuration Mismatch - The dimming config stored on a E-ACP doesn't match what is stored in the dimming engine

DMX Errors

  • DMX Error - Data is being seen on a DMX port but is not valid DMX (DMX Data Error)
  • No DMX - DMX is not present on input port (DMX No Data)

Input Power Errors

  • Frequency Error - Dimming Engine is seeing a frequency outside its operable range
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Off - No power detected on noted phase
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts High - Voltage above determined threshold on noted phase, but still usable
  • Phase (A, B, or C) Volts Low - Voltage below determined threshold on noted phase

Internal Hardware Errors

  • Communication Mismatch -
  • Fan Fail - A cooling fan is not operating normally (only in DRd)
  • Rack Communication Failure - In DRd, E-ACP cannot communication with dimming engine 1 or 2. In Other racks, denotes a firmware mismatch (with NOC, DALI, FLO, or ERPCE firmware)
  • Rack Wrong Position - Displays when E-ACP is installed in "Rack 2" of a cross-bussed rack (only in DRd)

Power Control Hardware Errors

  • Breaker Trip -  Breaker has tripped (ERP Mains, EchoDIN, SensorIQ)
  • Control Error - Error in control signal to a relay/dimmer (Breaker Error on SensorIQ)
  • Dimmer Overtemperature - An individual dimmer in the rack has overtemped and has been shut down (Dim Over on ERP Mains and EchoDIN)
  • Dimmer Removed - Relay, dimmer, or breaker removed (Relay Removed on ERP Mains, Breaker Removed on SensorIQ)
  • Module Mismatch - Difference between relay/dimmer type in configuration and detected module installed in slot (Relay Mismatch on ERP Mains, Breaker Mismatch on SensorIQ)

Temperature Errors

  • Ambient Overtemperature - Temperature is above a threshold defined for proper operation. Function may be shutdown
  • Ambient Temperature High - Temperature is above a lower threshold than overtemp threshold. Unit may still function, but this a warning that temperature is a problem.
  • Ambient Temperature Low - Temperature is below a threshold defined for proper operation.
