History of Sensor RCD Modules

RCD History

ETC has been producing RCD modules for Sensor and Unison racks since the early 1990s. There have been several changes to the design over this time – this page provides a guide to how to identify the type of RCD you have.

In order to identify an RCD, power down the rack and remove the module(s). Look at the right-hand side of the RCD breaker assembly in order to view the side of the circuit board.

Servicing RCDs

RCDs should have their functionality tested periodically by pressing the “TEST” switch on the module. Regularity of testing depends on electrical regulations in your country; ETC recommends at least a quarterly test.

Exchanging RCDs

If you need to replace an RCD due to failure, ETC recommends a complete module replacement. It is not recommended to repair or exchange an individual RCD as it is a safety device.
