Upgrading L86 racks from EM64s to EM264s
Symptoms/Issue
Customer wanted to upgrade L86 rack with EM64s to EM264s.
Description/Explanation of Issue
EM264s have DMX opto-isolation, so I3M is not necessary.
Fix/Solution
- Replace EM64s with EM264s. They are compatible. Make sure front panel switches are all set appropriately. EM264s also has a DMX2 input.
- Replace I3M with EMRF. (The EMRF is a hardware DMX passthough sending the incoming DMX to each of the EM264s in the second row.
- This will only work if the top middle position has an EMB (empty airflow) tray, so the DMX isn't wired to it.
