Can I use a Smartrack or Smartpack in the US?

(This info is for old, ARRI Smartpacks that were originally manufactured in Europe only)

Answer

NO! Unfortunately, the SmartPack and SmartRack require a special processor board to run on 60Hz. ETC no longer has 60Hz processors in stock and we have tried unsuccessfully to modify a 50Hz processor board for running on 60Hz - the result was flicker and steppy fades at low levels.While there were some processors designed to work on 60Hz, these are few and far between. Currently, there are no more processors that ETC can purchase.Basically, do not use Smartrack or Smartpack unless you're in Europe!
