Micro II Pinout and Protocol
Overview
Micro II is an asynchronous, differential digital protocol primarily used for backplane control communications between RD-2031 cards and RD-2034 cards. In a few facilities, consoles (such as the CH200 or Designer from LMI) used Micro II to send dimmer information to the RD-2034 cards directly. Conversion of the facilities to DMX usually will require a custom configured RD-2031B card and standard code installed in the RD-2034A or RD-2035 card. Also, the console and control connectors must be replaced. This is not an easy conversion so plan for time in parts programming and installation.
Micro II from a console uses a 3-pin XLR connector.
