Adjusting Tension on Foundation Arm Mount
Explanation of Issue
Over time the Foundation arm mount may loosen and need to be adjusted so that it maintains proper tension to hold up the controller. Using some basic hand tools and the procedure below, you can adjust the tension.
Required Tools
- 3/8" drive Ratchet Handle
- 6"-8" ratchet extension
- 1/2" socket (3/8" drive)
- 2mm Hex driver
Fix/Solution
- Locate the main joint of the arm. On the top (under the cables) there is a button head screw.
- Loosen that screw using the 2mm Hex key and then the plastic cover on the end should be removable.
- Removing that cap will expose the adjustment nut.
- Using the 1/2" socket, extension, and ratchet handle; adjust the tension of the arm. Clockwise will increase stiffness (ability to hold heavier items in place) and counterclockwise will decrease stiffness (make it easier to move).
- If performing this procedure due to issues of the console drooping during use, tighten the nut until the arm is able to support the console with your hands rested on it. This will indicate it will easily hold its position during use.
- Once adjustment has been completed, replace the cap. Using the 2mm Hex driver, tighten the locking screw again.
