Wiring Guidelines - Foundation

The following guidelines should be used for laying out control wiring for a standalone Foundation Rigging Control System.
  1. A Foundation Rigging Controller has two Motor Control Output (MCX) ports for a maximum of 48 hoists.
    1. A maximum of 24 hoists can be connected per Hoist Control (C) wiring run.
    2. The total combined length of each Hoist Control run cannot exceed 500 feet (150 meters).
  2. Multiple MCX Nodes can be used with  a standalone Foundation Rigging Controller to control a total of 96 hoists.
    1. A maximum of 12 hoists can be connected per Hoist Control wiring run connected to an MCX Node.
    2. The total combined length of each Hoist Control run cannot exceed 500 feet (150 meters).
  3. A standalone Foundation Rigging Controller has two E-stop station ports.
    1. A maximum of 3 E-stop Button Stations are allowed per E-stop run.
    2. The total combined length of each E-stop (ES) wiring run cannot exceed 500 feet (150 meters).
  4. A Foundation has a single Remote port. This port can be used with the Fixed Speed Remote Control (FSRC), Remote Enable Button (RENB) or Foundation Handheld Remote (FHHR).
    1. The total combined length of the Remote Control (RC) wiring run cannot exceed 500 feet (150 meters).
  5. Hoist Control, E-stop and Remote Control wiring must be installed in grounded metal conduit unless shielded cable (Cat5e STP or better) is used.

All Hoist Control, E-stop and Remote Control wiring runs should be Belden 1583A, or any Cat5e or better cable.
